IS Academy Migration and Development

Civil society days

25-26 November 2013
Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, The Hague

Introduction
The IS Academy Migration and Development: A World in Motion project is a 5 year research (2009-2014) funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs and executed by Maastricht Graduate School of Governance. The main objective of the IS Academy is to strengthen the quality of policies in the area of development cooperation through the interaction between policy makers and academia. In this light, the Migration and Development project has focused on the relationship between migration and development by focusing on three themes: 1) remittances, poverty alleviation and development, 2) brain drain and development policy, and 3) return migration. The countries in which the research was conducted were the Netherlands as a migrant-destination country, and Afghanistan, Burundi, Ethiopia, and Morocco as migrant-sending countries.

The Civil Society Days that will take place on November 25 and 26 are organized to disseminate our research results to representatives from NGOs, international organizations, academia, and others who are interested. You are kindly invited to attend the sessions of your interest and provide input in the discussions concerning the research results.

Please register via the online registraton form and please also indicate which session(s) you would like to attend.
